Visit Kent Island

Established in 1631, Kent Island is the third oldest English settlement in the U.S. As the largest island in the Chesapeake Bay, Kent Island’s economy and culture have been defined by its rich traditions in the seafood industry. Harris Crab House is proud of its role in the local heritage.

 Explore the Narrows

Bike, run, or walk! Outdoor enthusiasts can experience the beauty of Kent Island and the Narrows via 28 total miles of refined trails. Pick up the Cross Island Trail or the Cross County Connector Trail at Harris Crab House to view the inspiring vistas of marshland and open water, or to check out the old Kent Narrows drawbridge! (We’re here for you once you’ve worked up that appetite.)

Visitors can get a gull’s-eye-view of the scenery from the observation decks of the Chesapeake Heritage & Visitors Center.

A view of Harris from the other side of The Narrows lands you at Ferry Point Park, where you can grab your fishing rod, launch your kayak or SUP, stroll to the beach along the marshland boardwalk, and soak up some sunshine.
